Rath Dysert – Clare

10am – Drumcliff – Dysert Walk. Pilgrim Walk, Co Clare

Starting point: Drumcliff Cemetery, Ennis, County Clare.
Parking: Dysert O’Dea Castle, Dysert, Corofin, County Clare from 9am to 09.30am.
Walkers will then be transported to the starting point at Drumcliff.

Distance: 14 km..Duration: 4 -4.5 hours. Terrain: Easy, quiet rural roads and woodland paths.
Fitness: Moderate, the walk will be at an easy pace with all walkers staying together.

St. Declan’s Way – Waterford/Tipperary

As part of the Pilgrim Paths Week 2017 celebrations in April, Knockmealdown Active will organise a walk from Mount Melleray in Waterford, over the mountain to Ardfinnan in Tipperary. There will be two options for walkers, a led-walk and a self-navigate option for the more adventurous. Walkers will gather at the Green in Ardfinnan at 9.30 on Saturday, April 15th 2017. The walk will begin at 11am from Mount Melleray.

St .Kevin’s Way – Wicklow

Celebrate Easter and Pilgrim Paths Week by joining a contemplative walk along the ancient route of St. Kevin from Ballinagee Bridge to Glendalough, Co Wicklow. Walk will take about 4 hours to complete and the meeting point is Glendalough at 10 am, on Easter Saturday, April 15.

Kilcommon Pilgrim Loop, Co Tipperary

Opportunity to follow a pre-Christian trail, once used to pay homage to the goddess Eilbhe and later used by upland people heading to the Mass Rock at Laghile.

Reflection led by Fr. Keane and Fr. Woods along with singing from children at Kilcommon N.S at the Laghile Mass Rock as part of the walk.

Post walk refreshments will be served at the community hall.

Registration: Kilcommon Village 12.30pm. Departure: 1.30pm. Distance: 7km. Contribution: €5. Description: Relatively easy.

Delighted to announce that once again we will be having a Pilgrimage Walk along the Cosán na Naomh as part of the National Pilgrims Paths Week, This is the fourth year doing the walk, in conjunction with Pilgrim Paths Ireland and we will have walking guides and archaeologists to tell you about the various places that we pass enroute.
