Tochar Phadraig – Pilgrim Paths Event – Monday April 6th 2015
The Pilgrim Path Day for Tochar Phadraig – the ancient pilgrim path between Ballintubber and Croagh Patrick – will be on Easter Monday, April 6th 2015.
Assembly and Registration will be at Ballintubber Abbey at 10a.m
The Pilgrims will walk the 17k (11 miles) route between Aughagower & Ballintubber (pilgrims will be bussed to Aughagower). €5 Registration.
Over a thousand pilgrims walk this Tochar every year. Among those who walked it was President Mary McAleese and who wrote as follows; “Thank you for making our visit to Ballintubber Abbey a very special experience. Walking the Tochar was every bit as wonderful and prayerful as the Camino”.

All the above walks will commence at 8.30a.m in Ballintubber Abbey and are a 35 km walk to Murrisk at the foot of Croagh Patrick.
On completion of the walk pilgrims are bussed back to car park at Ballintubber Abbey. A car will accompany the walkers along the route.
